Piano, 'cello, Music Craft and Theory lessons in Drewvale.

Deanne Scott

ATMusA, CTMusA, MTAQ (Prof)

Deanne has been interested in music all her life. From the age of six she studied ballet and piano.  Later she was involved in acting in musical comedy and drama.  From 1990 to present day she as had a rewarding career as a teacher.

Her philosophy has been strongly influenced by the Hungarian composer and educator Zoltan Kodály.  She believes that all children should experience music from an early age and that learning an instrument is highly beneficial to cognitive, physical and emotional development.

Her aim is to bring out the personal best in each student and guide them to reach their goals through individual and group lessons and encouraging students to attend regular workshops and concerts.  She prides herself on devising lesson plans tailored for each students personal needs and goals.

Deanne has been exploring and learning the Taubman Approach, an approach to playing the piano that facilitates freedom and technical ease at the instrument. She is committed to lifelong professional development, regularly attending symposiums, and masterclasses and continues to study the Taubman Approach with mentors Brenda Hunting, Therese Milanovic in Australia and John Bloomfield in New York City.

Her studio offers tuition for piano, 'cello, theory and music craft from beginners to advance with Yvonne Lin BMusA (QLD Conservatorium) and Bella Ambrose BMus (Hons), GrDipL&T(Sec), MTAQ (Prof) ('cello all levels) from Tuesday to Saturday.  AMEB exams are held at the home studio and performance opportunities are offered throughout the year.

Deanne maintains a busy home studio, and enjoys teaching at the Avenue Child Care at Sunnybank Hills and Norman Park. These classes are held to develop musicianship and preparing the very young student for formal music lessons.
